He just turned 4. He loves them. They are very well built, thick durable plastic. They do not have treads, though, so you can't use them on tile floors or smooth wood floors. I make sure my son used these only on carpet, concrete, or grass. The cousin comes over and fights over the different colors, so I have made a rule that each child gets one purple stepper, and one red one. This clears things up pretty easily. I have had to make a knot in the rope to shorten them for now, but can easily get the knot out for when the kids are taller. The ropes are nice and smooth, good quality, won't wear out anytime soon. I try to only buy toys that will last many years, be interesting for many years, and that do not use batteries. These fit that model, and the kids love them. They were hard to find, though. Don't think amazon sold them a while back. It seems no one sells the simple toys so much anymore, which is a real shame! They are so...
